not to be forgotten
They started with an a cappella that made the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end, and that was the way the rest of the evening went. Amazing, surreal, and beautiful. I day-dreamed of having them sing me to sleep and wake me in the morning.
I never thought I’d hear of MJ’s death at a gig, let alone theirs. Someone shouted the news from the crowd, and they sang their last song of their set as a tribute to him. It’s odd to think that not 10 minutes before Robin Pecknold was singing The Killer’s Human, Johnny Cash stylee, which was awesome too.
It’s going to be one of those, where were you when…. parts of history, they seem to be happening a lot lately, or maybe they’re just getting closer together as the years feel shorter and faster.
